2015 Scholarships Presented

 
Five of the six recipients were present to receive their scholarship checks at out regular meeting. The club received seventeen deserving applications but had the hard decision of narrowing it down. In all the club awarded $12,500 in scholarships this year.

The recipients include: 

David Bell Scholarship $2,000 - DeVaugh Williams, from Winton Woods High School who will attend Ohio University to pursue a degree in Communications and Music Production. DeVaugh, left,  is pictured above with Dave Bell, renowned and recently retired choral music teacher from Winton Woods High School

Joyce Haller Scholarship $2,000 - Hayley Perkins from Winton Woods High School. Hayley will attend The Ohio State University to pursue a degree in Biochemistry/pre-med. She was salutatorian of her graduating class and is the first generation in her family to attend college. Hayley is pictured above with Steve Haller, son of Dale and Joyce Haller

Kiwanis General Scholarship $2,000 - Sarah Fessler from Finneytown High School will attend the University of Cincinnati to pursue a degree in Biology. Sarah was a member of Key Club and is very active in 4H. Sarah, on the left above, is pictured with her mother Elise.

Kiwanis General Scholarship $2,000 - Irene Onianwa from Winton Woods High School will attend The Ohio State University to pursue a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Irene was vice president  of Key Club.

Kiwanis General Scholarship $2,000 - Sarai Tylisa Dean from Winton Woods High School will attend Northern Kentucky University to pursue a degree in Pre-medicine. She is the first generation in her family to attend college. Sarai is pictured above on the right with her mother Sheila.

 

David O'Connor Continuing Scholarship $2,500 - Corey Stewart, a Winton Woods High School graduate now attending Ohio State. Corey was not in attendance but since he will be a senior this was was fourth annual scholarship from the club. He is getting his bachelors' degree in nursing.
